LG VX10000 Spy Shots
Here you go spyshot fans: purported pics of LG’s new VX10000 and VX8800 handsets which recently cleared FCC approval. They’re definitely grainy pics of something with all the naughty bits blocked to protect the innocent.

Something With A Ring To It
Happy with their new LG phones.
We settled on Verizon and Joy and I both got enV phones from LG. We’ve only had them two days now, but they seem pretty nice. They are certainly more full-featured than our previous phones, and I can finally drive home from work without my cell phone dropping calls on me, which is very nice.

I Hate Proprietary Software for Gadgets
Trying to get the LG phones to talk toWhen we migrated to Cingular and got our current LG phones, I ordered software for the new phones. It works, but you can get a good idea of how useful it turned out to be by the fact the cable and software now live on Chris’ computer and it’s probably been over a year since I did anything with it. I couldn’t tell you if she’s ever used it, even though I installed it on her computer so she could.

Mobile Phone Contracts Tips
Some good tipsSometimes you’ll even see crazy deals on the contracts with their clearance phones, for example Three did this with a lot of its older LG phones, which meant you get (for the period) great deals just by taking an older handset, and remember an older handsets in 2007 will have all the features you need, as most phone now come with bluetooth, mp3, photo as standard and are mostly set apart by design and extra smaller technology innovations.

Verizon V CAST Mobile TV
Mobile TVLast night party captain Richard Blakeley and I hit the Verizon “Off the Record” party at the Palm. In addition to the free booze, mediocre music, and awkward crowd, there was a big ol’ pile of Samsung and LG phones hooked up to the upcoming V CAST Mobile TV service.

LG VX8000
I haven't tried an LG phoneI switched to LG phones from being a long-time Nokia user because I wanted a flip phone and all of LG's phones seem to offer so many more options, and picked up the VX8000 because it's currently the best LG has to offer. Fortunately, I was not disappointed. While this phone does have some flaws, it has proven to be the best cell phone I've ever owned.

License-Free Cellphone Games: Some Assembly Required
Click through for game info on specific LG phones.
Through most cellphone providers, you can download full mobile games from their servers at the cost of $5 per game. Some providers, such as Telus, offer 30 day, 2 day, or 2-run trials, or even games that require you to renew a license every 30 days to keep playing. I noticed that when a trial/lisenced game checks to see if it’s allowed to run (if it’s still within the alloted trial timeframe) it doesn’t make an outside connection from the phone. What’s this mean? It means that the phone checks something in it’s own filesystem to see if the game is allowed to run. Bad call on the designers’ part!
