Push-to-Talk May Evolve as Standard Cellular Feature
In the highly competitive cellular marketplace, carriers are always on the lookout for an edge, a way to differentiate their services from their competitors’ offerings. Somewhat surprisingly, for more than a decade, Nextel has been able to use one enhanced service, Push-to-Talk (PTT), not only as a differentiator but also as a way to prop up its revenue and margins. That may soon change, however, as other carriers are now poised to deliver similar services.

Hey, What Happened To The Browser?
I applauded Nextel for giving BWC users full access to the HTML browser. But as of two days ago, I lost connectivty to the internet service on the HTML browser and went hunting to get it back. If you have issues with the HTML browser (called Internet Browser for BWC users), I've documented my experiance below with every possible solution I have found.

Nextel Rant!
I pay Nextel way too much money to have service as unreliable as this. With all of the network problems, the constant dropped calls, and the reception issues, I have decided that I will not be renewing my contract this year.

Product Placement Advertising
Speaking of TiVo, Tara and I love watching 24. It's probably our favorite show we watch. During a scene where Jack Bauer is on his cell phone, trying to help an innocent couple from terrorists, he gives out his cell phone number to them.
When he read out the phone number, I hit pause and looked at Tara and said 'they didn't use the normal 555 phone number' (you know how TV and movies always uses the fake 555 prefix when saying phone numbers...).
I immediately picked up my cell phone and dialed the number (go ahead and try dialing 310 597-3781):
The Nextel mailbox for 24 is full. Thank you for calling. Please try again later.
I guess if I had been watching the show live on a Monday and called I would of gotten a better message from Nextel, but alas, the mailbox was full. Very cool way to promote Nextel!
