Cell Phones Meet VoIP

Cell phone service providers want to integrate with corporate VoIP networks to reduce their capital outlays.

1) Cell phone service providers have taken the approach to make your existing cell phones to connect to their wireless Internet connection or hotspots. For instance, TalkPlus launched the world’s first cellular VoIP service in 2005. The service allows people to make VoIP calls with existing cell phones without needing a broadband network. This is a huge advantage compared with the standard VoIP which requires a broadband Internet connection.

Buying A Cell Phone

phones nokia 6230 cell phone cingular This is a helpful article, but I don't think AT&T is in the cell phone business right now.

One of the most important features when looking for a cell phone is dependable service. There is no point in having a cell phone and the most up to date cell phone accessories if the phone is not reliable. Some cell phone companies advertise that they provide the best cell phone service but unfortunately this isn’t always true. Ensure that you deal with experienced cell phone service providers such as AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile.

Rural Carriers Fail to Meet 9-1-1 Regulations

I wasn't too surprised to read this:

About 90 rural cell phone service providers missed last week’s deadline to introduce a system for emergency workers to find cell phones dialing 911, according to the Federal Communications Commission, according to News.com.

I've noticed a lot more "friends and family" plans from the cell phone comanpies.

As discount "family plans" become the top growth area for U.S. cell phone service providers, investors should keep a sharp eye on customer cancellation rates in coming years, according to industry watchers.

Swapping Photos Across Cell Phone Carriers

I haven't sent many pictures yet, so I haven't tried sending pictures cross-carrier. A technical problem that can be solved.

Adding to the complexities, say analysts and cell phone company executives, is that cell phone service providers have each built slightly different versions of photo services, instead of waiting for an industrywide standard.

Cellphones Provide Tsunami Relief Programs

I love the convenience! Anything to make it easy to help the tsumami victims.

Spain and China cell phone service providers employed similar plans where by customers could call a number and a quick beep after dialing indicated that a donation of a specified amount had been made to a charity fund. The charge shows up on the phone bill the next month.
