The Echo Project
The Echo project is the contemporary implementation of an idea that a friend and I had a few years ago. We thought it would be neat to buy a toll free 800 number and hook it up to a computer that would act as an answering machine. We’d make the computer limit the calls to a minute or so and then create soundfiles for each of the calls that were made to the number. The soundfiles would be put on a website and made available for download to anyone who wanted to use them.
