EarthLink to Expand VoIP, Offer Dual Cell/WiFi Phone
EarthLink reportedly plans to expand its VoIP service with plans to launch an IP telephony and broadband Internet service bundle. EarthLink currently offers VoIP service by reselling Vonage. The company said it plans to expand its VoIP service by building its own, non-Vonage service. The company plans to launch dual VoIP/broadband service later this year for roughly $70 per month. EarthLink said it expects to generate up to $500 million per year from VoIP by 2009, with market penetration of 2 percent of US households.
