Verizon, Sprint Snub Apple, iTunes

As mentioned here before, I think the cell phone carriers are shooting themselves in the foot.

Business Week reports that Verizon, Sprint and Cingular will all unveil their own music download services for mobile phones later this year. According to the article, wireless providers aren't crazy about using Apple's iTunes service because it relies on downloading tunes to a computer first, then transferring to the mobile handset as opposed to a direct download to the mobile handset.
